To celebrate our return to Svalbard for another trip on M V Stockholm, here is an image from or last trip 4 years ago.
Hand held from moving small icebreaker, quite stable really.

Lovely shot Ken.
Like the fact that the upright bear is looking at you. The water dripping from wet fur adds a nice touch.
Composition wise I'm not sure whether it looks better cropped at the bottom to remove the foreground water.

I'm confused though... what part of Africa is Svalbard?

Great shot, the two different poses really adds a sense of action to the image. The composition enhances this, though as Martin mentioned, maybe a bit of the bottom could be cropped out so the little bit of ice on the right is gone.

Sweet Photo Ken  Very nice poses and composition, I really like the texture of the wet and dripping fur of the standing bear.

Have fun on your next adventure!

Outstanding photo. A little more separation so the bears weren't aligned might be slightly better compositionally but as their poses are so different this is also very nice. I like all that ice in the slate blue water, with global warming we can't take it for granted any more. Nice comfy icebreaker and polar bears to photograph, sounds pretty sweet to me.

You have a winner here, Ken! To get two polar bears together, with one standing up and the other on all fours.....wow!
