Crabbing

The captain of our boat during my Great Bear Rainforest tour went out one morning to lay some crab traps. It was a good excuse to grab my wider lens, which was tucked away for much of the trip, and snap a couple quick photos.

Canon 1D Mark IV
Canon 24-70mm 2.8
ISO 400
1/8000th
f/5.6
-2/3 exp. comp.
Converted to B/W in Nik Silver Efex Pro 2

great B/W shot... I love the bold lines of mountains and reflection, the white clouds hanging over the lake and the silhouetted boat :toast:

Wonderful image Max, I like the low clouds, composition, and how dark the man and boat are compared to the rest of the scene. I can't really see a way to improve it.

Great scene and conversion to B&W. You were spot on with the composition, such a classic scene, nice work!

I had the same thought as Scott -- "classic scene." Wonderful layers in the mountains, enhanced by the backlit clouds, beautifully contrasted against the shadows of the mountains.
