This is a wonderful image, Daniel. Very somber mood with the clouds, mist, and no sunshine. But there is that cheerful patch of yellow leaves. Nicely composed and exposed.

Nice moody image. Cold too I bet. I can feel it seeping into my bones. By the look of those clouds its time to get the heck out of there. :toast:

The excellent elements and light, as well as your comp, make this image more than just a good photo, but rather a complete experience of it's own.

Whoa! I would have been packing up my gear and getting the heck out of Dodge, right after grabbing this. An excellent depiction of an oncoming storm!

WOW, great mood and a very dynamic comp, with the rocks in the URC, the mist in the mg and the threatening clouds overhead, love it :toast:

Daniel,

I love this! Mood is somewhat somber, even a bit dreary... yet that touch of fall color makes all the difference here. Love the touch of mist over the river and the brooding sky as well. This says to me - winter is not far behind.

No nits or suggestions.

This has such a dreamy feel to it. Were you able to stay dry to take it from this view point or did you have to get your feet wet? Very well done.

Hi John, to answer your question about dry feet. - I always bring my fly-weight hip waders on my river hikes, so yes. I was ankle deep but dry feet!

Wow... Really well done! I like the format, and the grand view allowing us to take in the surroundings. The atmosphere, splash of color on the far end, and stream make this an image to explore in.

You did a nice job with this.
I am not a big fan of square crops, but this one works well.

Outstanding- great atmosphere! Searching for nits, I might have tried for a comp with the yellow leaves a little more off center (a little lower and right), but this is really nice as is. Congrats! :toast:

One comment can't begin to cover everything this image has. But, reading through the comments everyone has hit on that one part of it that touched them. Words like dynamic, timeless, moody, somber yet hopeful, and I can add classic, evocative, and powerful. Not just one of your best, but one of the best around here in awhile. :toast:
