Light Eruption

The end of summer in the British Columbia Coastal Mountains. I was camping near the Ogre Lake after a long off trail hike. My friend was fishing and I was watching the cloudless sunset. When I turned around to get my camera from the tent, I noticed cloud formation developing and moving quickly on the opposite side of horizon. Just when I got ready to shoot light erupted from the mountain.

Beautiful scene, excellent IQ and colors are very nice.
I will probably be in the minority, but I would eliminate the star or planet (Venus?), as I think it draws my eye and distracts from the image.

Crazy beautiful but have to agree with Dan on the planet... is that a planet? However, I would love to have captured this myself. Defnitely a wall hanger.

Thanks for comments and suggestions. The bright spot in the sky is actually the Moon. 14mm lens makes it appear very small. I will try to remove or make it larger. Thanks.

Beautiful light and processing. I don't mind the moon, and like how its reflected in the water. I might have tried a few different things with that comp though, perhapsa higher angle from the left to separate the rock from the reflection of the ridgeline, and maybe an attempt to show the entirety of the trees to the left

Beautiful image Artur. I would also remove the moon, not enough size or detail to add interest in my opinion. Also, my pet peeve is having almost the exact same tone level in the sky as the foreground, it's just not possible in the real world. But that may be my personal, old fashioned notion (or personality disorder).

When I viewed this on my iPad the tones looked perfect, disregard the previous nit Artur. I guess that goes to show how critical a monitor can be.

Cool image. Especially like the balance between the reflected and underwater transmitted light.

Superb image! Great colors and reflection. I don't mind the moon there - either way this is a winner. :toast:

W O W. If it was not for that amazing light and moon, I don't see this scene working nearly as good. Awesome! :toast:

The warm clouds pull the eye through the scene. The clear water is great.
