Sunset on the Big Sur coast, with the Pt.Sur lighthouse shining a beacon on the scene.

Canon Rebel xTi, ISO400, 67 mm at f/9.0, 1/5 sec.

Thanks in advance for any comments or critiques.

Nice hazy sunset colors and a good surf composition, Kathy. Both versions are a little soft. It almost feels out of focus but I suspect some sharpening would take care of it.

The gentle colors and the long view here are delightful. The softness in the waves is somewhat distracting, especially in the breaking wave lower center, but that's built in to a 1/5s shutter speed on moving surf. In this situation, a longer (several second) ss would help by making sure that the viewer knows that the blurring is intentional. Personally, I'd like to see just a bit of detail in the far rock, but that's getting into the subtleties of personal artistic vision.

Lovely scene, Kathy! I really like the colors, lighting, and the comp. The use of a vertical orientation works well to show the wave lines. As others mentioned, it does appear a bit soft.
