After a quiet summer i'm back with a shot from my archives. This one was taken early April 2013 while trekking in Khangchendzonga National Park.
After a clear night, fog and clouds moved in shortly before sunrise. I was about to call it a day, when a small window in the clouds let the delicate sunrise-light hit South Kabru's (7,318m / 24,009ft) peak.
Khangchendzonga National Park, Sikkim, India
Canon 5DMKIII, EF 70-200 @ 200mm, Polarizer

As usual you can find a wee bit more info on my
blog.

Matthew,
I liked the colours (and their contrast) too much to even think about a b&w conversion here. i'll post a b&w shot of another himalayan peak soon.
how high were you when taking this shot, Joerg?
this shot was taken from down in the valley - must have been somewhere between 4,000-4,1000m.
