What would lawn macros be without some dandelions!

This was taken a few years ago. There could have been a background dropped in behind, but I think it's the tire of my car in the driveway.

Canon 100-400mm lens at 300mm, ISO 200 at f/5.6, 1/200 sec. Processed in Photoshop + NIK.

Ha Ha! I never would have thought of using a tire for a backdrop, but it works! Tho` composition may be challenging at times... . An appealing high-contrast shot that is nicely arranged, centered, and sharp where it counts. Reminiscent of a fireworks display with starbursts.

Great details and sharpness, Karen! Very well seen and presented. I've tried some weird stuff, like my nephew's shoulder for a tripod, but never a tire for a dark background. Way to use what's available.

I really like the composition, the light and the sharpness.

Yes, a very appropriate submission for the lawn macro theme. These puffballs are always fun to shoot and experiment with all kinds of comps. I like the half-gone view you have of this one and it really shows off well against the dark background. Way to be innovative to use a tire for the background! Great comp and presentation, Karen.
