Madison Monarch 2

I processed another image from the foggy Madison River sequence that I shot. This particular image was taken within seconds of the other image I posted. It has a slightly different look because the light and fog were continuously changing. In this image, the bull has better light on him and his tongue is sticking out. Not sure if the tongue adds anything, but it was different. It's interesting how images taken only a few seconds or minutes apart can have a different look. Full frame image with very little processing.

Comments and critiques welcome.

Hi Jerry. I personally prefer your earlier post of this scene for the pose, composition and lack of exposed tongue. This one has a little bit better light on the bull itself though. So true how seconds can change a scene entirely, one of the wonders of photography is that we can never recreate a given time and place.

Not a fan of the exposed tongue but nice shot of the elk in its environment. Ron

Beautiful haze and sweet light on the bull. The light and haze are very fluid at that time of the day. Well composed. This is such a serene setting with wonderful muted colors - the tongue does stick out a bit.

This is fine...but I much prefer the other version with the head more erect and the tongue not visible. You found some beautiful lighting conditions!

Love the misty mood and the tongue rocks for me. It's good you posted the higher res version as I very much enjoyed it.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the comments. Morkel, I'm glad you liked the bull's tongue. I think you and I were the only ones.
