I always enjoy the red aspen, and look for them everywhere I am able to go in the fall.
C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,
Large version included,
Morris

Love the glowing trees Morris and how they stand out in the almost mono landscape.

Just beautiful. The colors just pop out from the snow and I like the way the Aspen lead the eye in to the image.

These red tops are gorgeous to look at, Morris. The white snow has a very clean look to it.

I like the way the bold color of the aspen contrasts with what is otherwise virtually a monochromatic scene. I'm with you on the red aspen. It looks like once the color took off that it was pretty grand - it just took it a while to get going.

Stunning, Morris. the color here didn't develop well enough for any red aspen this year. It's been winter since the first of October.

Those are some outstanding aspen, Morris, looks like the tops are about to burst into flame. The snow and the stormy weather behind really let them glow.

Beautifully framed colors Morris. The snow and clouds match the scene beautifully and I like the clarity in the image. Great job on this.

Wonderful contrast between the colorful trees and the rest! My only nit is the small green tree on the right, I might crop that one out...

Wow! Those leaves are eye-popping, especially against the cooler and more muted colors in the rest of the scene (which would still be gorgeous even without the startling colors).
Is that Populus tremuloides? Here in the northeast, I have never seen the quakies nor the big-tooth aspen get red like that. Looks kind of like the aspens have decided to fill in for the absence of maples. Is that rare? (I've never been out west in the fall.)

Thanks, everyone for your comments.
Wayne, yes, those are quakies. The reds vary from year to year from what I guess would be temperatures and moisture in the seasons. Some aspen are red every year such as those on Kebler Pass near Crested Butte. I love finding new ones every year. You need to "go west young man." So much beauty in Colorado and other western states during the fall. Definitely different than back east, and I've never been back there, so I need to head that direction, too.

Morris, the snowy firs make great bookends for the image and help showcase the aspens against the white snow. It may be my conservative taste, but the reds seem a very tiny bit too luminous to me.
