I haven't been active here lately, but I should have more free time to participate again. We recently became empty nesters for the first time in 20+ years. Our daughter started college at U.C. Davis and our son is in the Air Force, stationed at Aviano Airbase in northern Italy. As a result, things are a lot quieter around here now.

This is from a hike I took a few weeks ago up Convict Canyon in the Eastern Sierra. It was a very windy morning with some nice clouds, but the trees were really getting blown around. Rather then try to fight the wind, I just went with it and liked the results here.
Thanks,
Rudy

Fascinating clouds Rudy. I really like them, and the distant ridge has beautiful lines and color. The massive blur of the trees is disconcerting at first, but kind of cool the more I look at it.

I like this very much. As John noted, the clouds are fascinating and really add a dynamic element to this scene. The movement of the foreground trees doesn't bother me at all, but they (and the distant mountains) feel a bit warm to me.

Nice color and light, and I dig the wind effect.

I love the clouds and the warm glow to this landscape, Rudy. I am not entirely sold on the trees although it was great thinking outside the box. It sounds as though there was nothing else you could do. Just my opinion of course.

I find this a very appealing image, Rudy. I like the layered comp ,pleasing natural color, and cloud treatment. I enjoy the wind blown trees as well. I like it when photogs go beyond the standard recipe for landscapes. It is refreshing. :toast: Chet

Nice composition and colors. The wind effect is really cool. A definite lesson to keep in mind. Whatever the obstacle is in making an image - make it the subject!
