These Canada geese, standing on a rock in a pond in Yellowstone National Park, offered many nice poses as I captured many images. This one is my favorite.

Equipment: Pentax K110D with DA 55-300mm at 300mm, handheld

Exposure: 1/1500s, f/9.5, iso 200

Crop: About 10% on all sides to remove messy snow-covered pond bank and sloppy-looking reeds.

Post Processing: Dodged upper heads to bring out eyes. Increase saturation of water to bring out subtle blue color.

Ditto what Nate has said Randy.
I might tighten the crop & clean up the water just a bit if it was mine..
But that's just me.
Well done :toast:

Dennis, Nate, and Howard, thanks for the kind comments. Howard, I like your suggestions to tighten the crop and clean up the reed debris. Here is the new version. My wife suggested leaving plenty of water open in the bottom of the frame as shown, but I may like it tightened up more.
