Black Swans at Michell Lake, north of Mareeba, Queensland. This band posed pretty well for me. I was never quite lucky enough to get open space at both sides of the frame. I added a bit of canvas on the left as the bill tip almost touched the edge of the canvas after a tiny bit of straightening. I'm unsure how ell the half swan on the right works-I'd be interested in opinions. This looks pretty crisp full width on my 24" monitor-I suspect it would print fairly well.

7D, 300mm f4 ISL, hand held, Av mode with -1/3 compensation, f11, 1/800, iso 500. Processed in CS6, canvas added and cropped from top and bottom. Taken 3:46 pm on October 23rd.

Your comments and criticisms are most appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Woulda been perfect if the two on the other end were looking to the right! Good choice on the pano!

Dennis, it's an interesting scene with that many swans and all those curved necks. I do see some repeating patterns in the added canvas at top left but may not have noticed them if you hadn't mentioned adding canvas. IMO the cut off swan at right isn't ideal but it's not a huge issue.

Great natural setting, the pano seems to work well Dennis.
All those red bills really pop too :toast:

Nice grouping Dennis, the red bills really add to the image. Nice composition.

Nice all the way around. Very nice light and I like the lily pads. The partial swan on the right detracts just a bit.
