Hoverfly (Fam. Syrphidae) photographed last summer. I believe this may be a Spotted Eye Hoverfly (Eristalinus megacephalus). Any help with ID is much appreciated.

The red background consists of the leaves of a plant at ground level.

Canon 7D, Sigma 150 mm macro 2.8 + 1.4 TC, f/8.0, ISO 640, -1/3 EV, 1/800 sec, monopod, natural light, LR5, PS-CC and NIK suite.

All comments are much appreciated. Thank you for all your comments on my previous photos. I've been away from NPN for a while.

Roger - You ID appears correct. Beautiful photo and I like the sharp focus on the eye. Might have been great to use F/11 or so, but the background would have suffered here.

Wow, you got in tight, Roger. The details in the eye are amazing and the pose, hanging from the flower, is great.
