The large image is so much better than the small. I think it would take even larger for this to be decently seen. The fine detail of the aspen get lost in the color bleed. You don't say, but if this wasn't taken from a tripod, it should have been, with an f-stop somewhere around f/11—f/14.

The washes of color and texture angling across the frame work very well, Paul, giving this a fine abstract sense. You could enhance that sense with a gentle Orton effect.

Definitely like the wash of color Paul, along with the snow on the pines, which always appeals to me, also like your composition. Well done.

This has the look and texture of an acrylic painting. The detail in the snow dusted evergreens give a nice contrast in sharpness to the layered aspens.

i like the interplay between the relative flatness of the colour (in the aspens) and the texture and tones of the pines. pull out a bigger lens or get in closer and isolating some of the centre/bottom part of the image would enhance that further. lovely!

Paul,

I like this, but it needs to be bigger in order to see the details. For your image above, you can size them to 720px on the long side. This one is only 550, and compression is hurting it. I like the layers and the color is very nice.

I love it.

Something about the processing perplexes me though. I like it a lot, but am not sure how to compare to if it had not been done. The yellows are sort of flattened out. Like "anti clarity" was used. Gives it an artistic look. If you did want it, then good for you. If you did not then there are ways to get that definition back. I'd like to see two versions.
