This Lioness and her sister decided to block the road in the early morning just outside the entrance to one of Hwange National Parks, finest new lodges Camp Hwange(it is actually owned by my good mate Dave Carson  )

Here she is after moving over a little to worry a passing jackal.
I tried this in vertical but really could not live with the clipped paws

A very relaxed and healthy looking lioness Ken. She doesn't seem at all interested in you.

I love the beautiful tones from the early morning light. The image is also tack sharp. That 200-400 is serving you well. Just rented the 200-400. Hopefully it performs as well for me. Took some shots yesterday. Still getting used to it.

Hi Ken,

Nice clean shot of a very majestic animal, complete with a harmonious colour palette.

On tripod or hand-held? Just curious...

Cheers...

Brad

Brad,
I do not own a tripod, my only means of support is usually a bean bag, but in this case I hand held. I find shooting out of vehicles hand held gives you far more time to react.

Really like the light on this good looking lioness. Would have been a plus if she had looked into the camera

Great image. I like that the lioness is not looking at the camera. You have captured excellent detail in the face.
