We never got an ID for this plant while we were there. Does anyone know its name? It was winter so it was absent of leaves.

Kruger National Park, South Africa

Raw file processed in LR5, with TK resize/sharpening for web.
Canon T3i, 1/500 s, f/7.1, ISO 200, EF 24-105 mm @ 24 mm, CPL, handheld

Ronald - Interesting tree/shrub. No idea on the ID - not much of exposure to flora in South Africa.

Ron: Looks like a thorny subject . Not sure of the ID but am sure enjoying your posts from South Africa. don't think I would like to encounter this guy in the dark. Unconventional subject nicely captured. >=))>

Lovely, sharp capture of this fascinating plant, Ronald. No idea of the ID I'm afraid but nice to see this.
