A photo for the season. I had the wonderful opportunity this October to explore the Ibera Marshes of Argentina for the first time. It would be difficult for me to describe my experience in just a few words, but it was nothing short of incredible. Thanks Nate!!!

Canon MKIV, 600mm & 1.4x, 1/2000, f9, ISO 800, manual exposure setting with the use of spot meter.

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Very nice image. Love the pose and perch. The reds in the smaller version of the image are very saturated. The ones in the larger version look less saturated. I'm guessing you have two different color profiles embedded in the images (or don't have one embedded in the smaller version)

I've only seen this species in Hawai'i. Great to see a shot on its natural turf. Minor nit: the color profile is different in the 500px and 720px images.

Wow, gorgeous bird!
Excellent detail, as usual, and nice pose, perch, and comp. Hope I get there one day...

Lovely pose and composition Ken.
I always struggle to get detail in my reds but you have done a great job, expecially on the larger version.
Would it have been possible to rescue any detail from the underside of the tail feathers?

Very nice. I've been chasing this guy in my area, but I could not get a photo of it yet.

Beautiful image, Ken. Excellent pose and I really like the angled perch. My only nit is the bare end of the branch projecting from the end of the greenery. I think it kind of distracts from the rest of the image.

Ken, this is a great image. I like the detail, especially that you used f9 and kept the perch in focus rather than blurring it out away from the Cardinal. :wavey:

Great detail in the reds here Ken, nice dof. The Ibera is as good as it gets for bird photography. :toast:
