The sun lit up the clouds and the clouds lit up the mountains. I love the soft, diffused light that results when that happens. Taken yesterday (Christmas Eve).
Sony DSC-R1, ISO-160, f8.0, 1/80, 3 vertical photos stitched.
Merry Christmas to all!

Beautiful scene and great subtle lighting. Great composition,I like the color in the stream to balance out the sky and draw the eye down to the bottom of the image.

Beautiful work Gary. Nicely seen, composed and processed. Winter lighting has it's own distinct feel and you've captured that here

Beautiful winter scene. It sure looks cold! Love the light on the little stream in the foreground , background and sky. I might like to see more in those dark woods, perhaps a little more detail, especially on the left.

That light is pretty special, Gary. As my eye wandered around the photo, I kept thinking about the light and how it didn't seem real in places but then so real it seemed like I was right there. The impact is so much greater in the large version. All I can say is well done.

Another beautiful winter scene, Gary. I really like the warm lighting in the sky and its reflection in the foreground stream. Comp is great the way the stream flows diagonally across the foreground, leading back to those majestic peaks. Great job on the exposure and the stitching too. You sure have some awesome scenery to view in your area!

A beautiful shot, Gary. Lighting, of course, really makes this scene, along with snow-covered mountains, and the stream running diagonally through the shot. My only thought would be to try and bring out more detail in the shadow areas, but that may have thrown everything else off, and I'm not a big fan of a lot of post-processing myself.

You caught some fine light here, Gary. The leading line of the creek and it's reflection of the sky colors really pulls this together. Beautiful!
