Heavy Lifting

The sun was shining through the clouds like hundreds of small spotlights on the field of very deep, freshly fallen snow (I had snowshoes on and was still wading in snow almost to my waist). This one bush was obviously heavily loaded but standing strong despite it all. I liked the contrasts and textures of the brightly lit snow so I paused and took a close up.

Great eye to see the possibilities here!
Love the play of light and snow texture.

Great find, Gary! Very graphic image with a wonderful combination of colors and shades of lighting. I like the way the sunlight is highlighting the bush while the background is in the shade. It really helps highlight the form of the bush and the large clumps of snow on the branches. Very nice "mini landscape".
