Giant Wood Rail

Our first morning exploring the Ibera Marshes of Argentina we encountered several new shorebird species, making it difficult to choose which birds to photograph. I concentrated on a beautiful pair of giant wood rails just after sunrise during a preening session.

Canon MKIV, 600mm and 1.4x, 1/250, f8, ISO 800

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Wow, what a beauty Ken. Too many birds, huh? A good problem to have. I didn't even know this bird existed. :toast:

Beautiful light and bird and I like the pose, Ken. I might be tempted to take a touch off the left and maybe add canvas on top. Did you do any shots in portrait format?
