Blue Landing

I posted a take-off on 12-23 of the blue jay, from a small tree.
Here it's making a landing on a lower branch, of the same tree..
It hit a bit off-center right near the bottom, so I've added canvas right side & bottom here.
F/7.1, 1/4000th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x ext around 11:00am, clear & sunny.

Love the wing position and the details and colors are excellent, outstanding flight shot as usual Howard! Wonderful work.

Very nice capture. Good to be able to see the extended get on the approach.

Great action shots Howard. Looks like you froze all the motion at that shutter speed. Nice job.

I like the original, Howard. I like the upright pose, the raised feet, and the way the head and bill are just perfectly above that wing.

Both frames are very nice, but I think I prefer the first one because of the blue showing on outside of the wing. Nice freeze of the action on both! Sharon

I like the second one, but it's a hard choice. Pretty fantastic, Howard :toast:

Nice job, Howard. I really like the extended feet on the second one, which gives it an even more dynamic feel, but the first one has a more appealing pose for me.
