I usually photograph bird, rarely anything else. I have never had success taking pictures through the car window. But was fortunate this time. This coyote was hunting in the snow at the side of the road as I drove past. I thought she would run when I stopped and pointed the camera, but instead just stared at me. Nikon D800, 500mm, ISO 640, f5.6, 1/400. Thanks for looking. Ray

A fine portrait of this coyote with a lovely complementary background and the fine touches of snow on her muzzle. Well done.

Great capture, Ray. I'm sure all those birding photography skills certainly came into to play here to help you capture a fine image when it presented itself. Nicely blurred background with great details on the coyote. Good pose he gave you too! It's always nice when wild creatures cooperate to get their picture taken.

Ray, the coyote looks to be wearing a pretty deep winter coat of fur or hair here. Nice colors and wonderful head shot.
