This is probably one of the coolest birds we photographed in the Ibera Marshes of Argentina, especially after seeing their unique courtship flight display,(unfortunately it was to far for photos this time). I am hopeful to return to this incredible place and try again in the future.

Canon MKIV, 600mm & 1.4x, 1/2500, f8, ISO640, Manual settings with spot meter, cropped for pano composition, nearly full frame horizontally.

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated

Very cool, Ken. Some great diversity on this trip. It looks like this one was pretty cooperative. :toast:

Wow! Spectacular bird. My only suggestion would be a little more room all the way around.

Incredible bird! Great pose, colours, detail and sweet BG.
Agree that it is a bit tight in the frame.
Sure hope to get down there one day!

Very cool looking bird . I like the flow of the image with the branch / perch coming in form the lower right and the flow of the bird being the opposite. I do wish it wasn't as tight in the frame.

Ken, a great shot of a bird I have never seen a picture of, let alone the bird. I like the nice portrait pose, As for being a little tight, I agree, but this is good with me because the bird itself is rather small. As it is, it gives a good view of the bird's body. That tail takes up a lot of space. This close frame allows the good view of the bird body.

Awesome bird, Ken. I don't mind your crop...I'm sure that tail makes composition tough. Nice bg, great details. Sharon

A very sweet shot of this beauty Ken. The tight crop and angle at which the bird is perching give us a great view of that unique tail. :toast:

Stunning Ken, simply stunning. Love the flared tail and in breeding plumage to add to the perfection.

I can't imagine a better photo showing off the tail. Excellent profile shot. I didn't feel it was too tight as much as I felt the right portion was cropped too loosely.
