On a local butterfly bush. The Canon XTi is not known for low noise at high ISO.

Raw file processed in LR5, with TK resize/sharpening for web.
Canon XTi, 1/320 s, f/10, ISO 800, Sigma 18-200 mm @ 88 mm, CPL, handheld

Please view the large image!

Seeking any and all advice and comments. Thanks in advance.

Very nice, Ron. A very pristine Swallowtail on a beautiful butterfly bush blossom (say that 10 times fast!). I like the comp which includes the entire blossom and plenty on space in front of the BF. Nice and sharp BF as well. The bg is a bit busy, but the trade off is the the BF is sharp throughout. Well done!

Beautiful butterfly, nice perch and good composition. I might try darkening a bit the bright OOF grass in the background and reducing the noise. You already mentioned it.

Nice look at a perfect swallowtail. The BF has a fine brightness with great details. There's just a slight softening near the front edge of the closest wing, but you did well under the conditions. Dodging the background highlights would reduce their impact considerably.
