Black-necked Stilt

This is the male of the pair from last weekend in Bayou Sauvage, shot nearly the same time as the previous. Normally in bright and sunny conditions it would have been in strong backlight, and except for the absence of catchlight due to cloudy conditions, it worked well here. The mate had wondered out of frame, so I tried a few of the lone male. Full frame except for slight crop after tilt correction. Larger image included.

That's a lot of leg, Bill! Beautiful job on the exposure and bringing out the detail in the plumage, and I like the hint of pink sky reflected in the water.

An elegant composition with good plumage detail. I like the slight pink cast in the water.

The flat light brought out the very nice details you captured on the back. I like the look back pose, subtle iridescence, and of course those legs! Sharon
