Dark-eyed Junco

From my blind yesterday morning. I liked the partly hidden view with the appealing head turn and the early light in this image. The soft oof foreground vegetation appeals to me as a suitable frame for the bird in this case.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow head mounted to blind windowsill, f8, 1/2500, iso 1250, Av mode with -2/3 stop compensation (mostly for Chickadee cheeks). Processed in CS6 and cropped to 12.6MP. Taken yesterday at 8:42 am.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

It is nice lighting and I like the peeking out view you're getting. Sharon

I agree, nice head turn as the junco peeks out from the shadows Dennis.
The pose helps to add a bit of cute factor, great details in this high ISO capture :toast:

It's a very attractive pose, Dennis. The shadows of the needles on the bird are nice too. I find the OOF shrubbery on the left and bottom a little distracting.
