California is in a very severe drought. Here, we have had only one brief shower since November, when it should be raining almost every day. Plants and trees are thoroughly confused, and many are starting to bloom, like this daisy.

Lovely image with the blossom softly echoed by the bg bloom. Drought in California, snow in the Southlands...I'd say nature is thoroughly confused this year.

Very nice daisy composition. Hopefully the rains will come soon. I don't know any place in the west that is seeing any significant moisture. We will keep our fingers crossed for California.

I just saw a piece on the news recently about how severe the drought is in California. Lots of crazy weather patterns going on across the country. I like your angled comp with the OOF flower in the background. Interesting concave center on these flowers. Not sure how these weather changes will affect future plant growth and, actually, all of nature. I'm wondering how many of my perennials, bushes, trees, etc. will survive this brutal winter we've been having. . .but that's minor compared to all of nature needing water to survive! :frown: Hope the rains come soon!

Sandy: Having lived through a severe drought in 2011 I hope yours breaks soon. I like this subject and your DOF choice but the comp would be significantly improved for me if the main subject was lower in the frame and more in the LLC so that the upper OOF bloom wasn't cut off and there was less space on the bottom. >=))>

Sandy:

'Spring comes and the grass grows' is a well know Zen saying. The weather may be whacky but the plants know when to bloom. Beautiful take on the daisy. As suggested by Bill, this one may be better present in landscape mode?

Nice take on the daisies, Sandy. Hope the rain comes soon for you! Weird weather indeed! From freezing here, it is supposed to get up to 85 today, then get cold again. My son in Valdez, AK had Spring-like weather while we were freezing. This last week, the supposed ice free harbor in Valdez Arm was frozen over!

I agree with the suggestions Bill and Gary made.
