Jim Gavin made this suggestion in a comment from my previous post..
"If it is a male he could be named Wendell maintaining the alliteration"
So I'm just following up

I like the gusty winds effect on the plumage here..
F/7.1, 1/640th, ISO 500, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x ext @ 11:33am and mostly cloudy. Pecan tree perch this time.

Nice colors popping from the great background --and I like the popped up feathers on the head -- would like to see some hint of the eyes - which is hard enough when black eyes pop thru a black mask

Really nice, Howard...you got an artistic looking perch and the artistic hairdo. What a nice series of this bird you've gotten. Sharon

Blue Monday/Wendy/Wendell? Love all of them but my favorite is Wendell. I do wonder, however, why every time I look at Wendell I think of Lyle Lovett and Don King.

Another super smooth BG on this one, Howard. As already mentioned, the crest really adds to the shot.

I love the shot. In my opinion it is the best of your waxwings but I think you are mistaken about the ID. I believe this bird is "Wax Ice" the rapping waxwing. But maybe Wendell is his real name. :toast:

Love the color palette in this one Howard. I am a bit envious. I am still waiting for a time I find a waxwing to photograph. Maybe this year?
