Snoqualmie Falls WA

Today might be the last day of good ice at Snoqualmie Falls. Had to try for a shot at water’s edge and found this comp. Strange day…wind was at my back so mist on my 14-24mm lens was nil. Rocks were bare and mostly ice-free… also unusual …making for an easy hike in and out. Gosh…too easy… I hope the rest of my hikes are so smooth.

I cropped out the Inn, so this should be OK for Landscape rather than Man and Nature.

Nikon D800e with Nikon 14-24 at 14mm for 1/13s, 100ISO, and F18.

You did a nice job removing the lodge, I almost didn't recognize the falls.
The Ice looks superb especially in the large view, I would like to see a color version, but the B & W
works and makes the top of the falls much easier to work with in processing.
Nice POV also.

The radiating patterns in the foreground work so well. Nice one!

Awesome shot of Snoqualmie Ken. In the large version the delicate details of the ice edges comes through, and they look great. I'm glad to see you were able to get out and capture some of this cold we've been having!

Ice looks nice in the foreground, and its quite dark and moody. I didn't know the bottom is still accessible.

I'm really liking the comp, too. Wonderful ice everywhere, and an impressive waterfall in winter. Well done.

I like what you have put together here, Ken. Fantastic POV and I particularly like the fact that the ice leads the viewer to the falls. Great image.

Really enjoying the FG ice shapes and how they seem to gravitate towards the falls.
