Midnight Train

I've been spending a few nights every week out along the tracks with my flash. When the ground is covered with snow it makes this sort of photography much easier. One thing I like is that the ground is white and the sky is black. I.e., the sky is dark and the ground is light. That's the opposite of most landscape type shots you see. Here, I waited a few hours in the below zero night to catch this BNSF train pulling loaded ethanol tankers from Dawson, MN. Only two Nikon SB-25 flash were needed, set to full power, fired by CyberSync triggers.

Love the action of the snow out front, & the red/yellow of the train pops.
Your effort in below zero temps has paid of nicely, it's a fine image Kent :toast:

Well, that's pretty cool. Worth the wait for sure. Looks tilted, but maybe the tracks are on a slope?

I think the road rises at center Morris, and that's what you see :wavey:

It is downhill, and road rises a bit to shed water.
