Studio Shoot
by Kurt Bowman
I am trying to venture out and try a few other types of photography to stretch my knowledge and keep learning. I had the opportunity to have a little fun trying some studio shots with a group of friends. I think this is the 5th time I went specifically to photograph people for portrait type work. I was lucky to have a pretty model to work with.

5 commentsPretty girl, love how the close portrait comp accentuates those beautiful brown eyes
I, as a viewer, want to concentrate on her face, and particularly her eyes, which are very powerful, almost mesmerizing. Her entire expression is one of intense study. As a suggestion, I might try to soften down her lips a bit. Not much, just a bit. If you do this again (another photo shoot), I'd also pay a little more attention to a couple of other details - the way her shirt collar lies on her neck/shoulder, plus the little bit of necklace showing. It might have been better with no jewelry at all.
All in all, you've captured this moment ideally, and have done a beautiful crafting job on her face with your post processing skills.
