Shimmering
by Thomas Haney
This stand of Cottonwoods in Zion Canyon seemed to shimmer in the midday sun, especially when seen against the dark canyon walls behind. I've never been there in the fall and many people told me how spectacular they are in full color, and I don't doubt it, but they were plenty beautiful for me as just naked trunks. I spent a good while searching for the right composition from the right angle, and this is my best attempt.
