Nikon D700
Nikon 17-35 @ 20mm

This is a similar comp to an image a few posts back. I like the wave action better in this version, but the tide is a little farther out.

As always, thanks for your thoughts.

I like the foreground here a lot, Ed. The large view is exceptional. The subdued sun and sky let the wave action really shine. For some reason, in the large view, there is a bright color on one of the rocks ( actually 2) that keeps pulling my eye. Very minor but might be worth a look.

A very moody image. I really like the touch of warmth with the sunrise/sunset.

Ed, This is very nice! The sun on the horizon adds a wonderful touch along with the glow of color. This image has quite the mood as Bill mentioned.

I like this version better because it has a stronger contrast of light values which always adds drama. I like the "hope" represented by the sun peeking through the dark foreboding skies. Other than that little bright spot on the FG rock Gary mentioned I think this is well done Ed.

Well done! I am not bothered by the little color splotches, but I would clone them out anyway.

An interesting mix of angryish seas and calm colors. I like your comp and processing here, Ed.

The crashing wave and the wave line to the sun really makes this work well.
The sunset is beautiful and natural looking in this light.
My only nit is the large rock on the far left, I wish it was more in scale with the others or not there.
Nice mood established....

I like this a lot, Ed. The sea is definitely more energized and I enjoy seeing more rocks in the foreground. Very nice. Chet

I like this a lot, Ed. It's a great view of a rough sea and stormy sky with a fine touch of warmth. The wave action looks good, the rocky beach adds some nice interest and the touch of pink around the sun creates some fine color tension and contrast. The larger version starts to let the details in the rocks show nicely and I'm sure they would look even better still larger.

Thanks for your thoughts guys; always appreciated.
Gary, Daniel and Phillip: I'll have to revisit the image and check those highlights out. I left them in originally as they looked like red highlights from the rising sun. I believe they are more pronounced in the other image. Thanks again.

Lovely color, nice comp, moment, and mood. It imparts a need to contemplate the future with it's long view to the sun at the far horizon. :toast:
