Morningtide
by Zhoen
Continuing on with shoots from Olympic Coast. This shoot was taken before the Blushing Moon. It was raising tide and each incoming tide sank me and my tripod lower into the sand. By the time I noticed, water was already in my boots. I should probably invest in a wader and figure out how to lock my tripod in the sand for future outings.
Extra socks and shoes helped…

10 commentsFWIW - Years ago I had purchased a set of "web feet" for my tripod. They were circular, about 6" diameter, made of some sort of hard rubber or something, and slipped over the bottom of each tripod leg. Their intended purpose was exactly what you're looking for. And they worked. My tripod stayed steady on top of wet sand.
Sorry though - I can no longer recall what they were called or where I purchased them. Maybe they still exist somewhere.
