2/22/14, 7:51pm, Barton County, KS. The hazy zodiacal light extends into the evening sky. It points to the Pleiades, aka The Seven Sisters, and the Hyades star clusters. While the windmill may tower above us, it is extremely small against the night sky. There is a town of ~15K just to the southwest of here, and another town of ~2700 northwest of here; both towns are only a few miles away. 7D, ISO 1600, f/3.5, 10mm,15 sec, cropped to format. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

This really gives the feeling of a night on the open prairie. The wind pump gives a nice sense of place and scale. Very well done.
