Wonderful morning light at Factory Butte outside Hanksville, UT. This butte is just amazing. It is roughly 1200 ft high, with a knife edge on top stretching about a half mile. It is surrounded by crazy badlands. I can see many more trips here in the coming years.

270mm, iso 100, f/16, 1/60s

Yep, better large. Love the way the light and lines play in this one Gary! Great range of tones.

Nice use of a long focal length to compose a nice, intimate landscape, and good use of monochrome to emphasize lines and contrast! Well done, Gary!

Looks great Gary! Wonderful light and the b&w looks really good to me. The large version works even better!

Gary, what a great collections of shapes accentuated wonderfully by your use of b&w. Those ridges do like like they would cut.

Gary, this is another great image from your kind of country. You have said you love this kind of country and your photos show it. I plan to be in Utah this Spring and hope to visit some of these areas. I am really enjoying your work. Chet

I like the way that you have isolated a section of the butte and focused compositionally on the graphic lines and contrast here.

An incredible b/w tapestry of tone and texture. Your use of the long lens to isolate these forms was simply perfect. The large version gives one just a hint of what a large print must look like.

Very nice, Gary. The textures and light make it feel like an alien place. It does remind me of Gal Tal's work from this area, which is meant as a compliment.

Love the lines, light, and detail here. Can't tell if this is the region where the blue shale is or not, but I would definitely like to get into this type of terrain.

Wow. I like when a page opens and I feel myself "jump" in my seat because an image is so good.
