While I like the look of the rock formation in the BG, the OOF cactus in the FG I find a distraction. Would like to have seen it the other way around. Maybe you could crop some of the FG out.

What a variety of interesting layers in this image! I really like the unique shapes of the rocks in the background. Your lighting helps emphasize those shapes and also provides some bright color in the middle strip of grass. The little cacti and other vegetation in the foreground add another completely different and interesting layer to view. I think what John was alluding to was possibly the distracting bright grass stems along the bottom edge. A crop up from the bottom to above those stems improves the image a bit IMO. I've never been to Arches National Park. It's on my bucket list!

The cactus do add a layer to the comp, but the star is the rock formation for sure. I think the cactus add to the scene, but I can see what John is saying.

I like everything in the picture separately, but together not so much. I feel like something should be the dominant here and the rest supporting cast.

Interesting layers, but the shapes and shadows on the rocks overwhelm everyting else; the cactus seem to be an afterthought. Without your shooting data I can't tell if you could have punched up the depth of field a bit more and gotten the whole thing sharp. Or gotten the photo earlier when the foreground was better lit...
