Three Dollar Bridge

My favorite fishing spot in Montana. The Madison river flows out of YNP and down the Madison valley to Ennis and beyond. The bridge got it's name because parking was allowed on private property for a three dollar donation. The property has been purchased by conservation organizations and three dollar donations are still accepted. Well worth the price of admission.

Three bucks is a fair price for some good fishing. You throw a fly or spinning? I used to flyfish a lot until I got into this dang photography thing. I don't seem to have time (or money) for both. I like the perspective on the image, the way the road runs off.

Flyfish, Harley. Used to be my hobby and passion. Now it's one or two trips a year. The last trip to the Madison (last Nov) I was torn between taking photos and fishing . Can't seem to do both. My concentration would be changing light and not on my fly. Oh well, both allow me to be immersed in whatever mother nature has to offer in a good way. And both allow me to enjoy a good single malt after a good day afield. :toast:

Wonderful B&W conversion Gary. Really nice tones throughout and the panorama format gives a nice sense of the area. :toast:

The symmetrical comp works nicely as does the clouds over the mountains. Photography long ago replaced fishing as my favorite outdoor activity but I still get out to wet a line once in awhile.

Nice work on this, Gary! Your b&w conversion looks very good to me and I like the panorama crop. Your larger version looks great!

I like the title AND the image!!
Good comp and good conversion to B&W. That bridge is a piece of history; make sure you keep this image around.

Interesting story behind this great looking B&W Gary, the pano comp suits it nicely.

I'm afraid I'd be in the same boat.. I suppose doing both would be a challenge, haven't tried it as yet.
I'd probably do both poorly, and end up with my cam in the drink to cap it off
