Thankfully the massive rain we had at Ruaha, turned up something extremely positive for me. The long grass meant we had to look up a lot ans I was very surprised to see this, my second sighting ever
Taken in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
EOS 1DX
200-400mm F4 with 1.4 EX at 560mm
F8
ISO 800

Lovely image, Ken. You've done a great job making this bird stand out against a busy background.

Super image Ken. The detail is exceptional. Are the greenish lores and blue eye ring normal color or is it coming into breeding color? :toast:

Interesting patterns and a nice pose of a bird I have never heard of before either. Way to go Ken.

What a cool looking bird Ken. Nice shot. Very colorful. Tack sharp with a perfect pose. Might be just a touch over saturated but very beautiful.

Thanks everybody for your comments.
Looking again I think I probably overdid the saturation a bit.
