I shot this my first afternoon at Ft Desoto two weeks ago. It was pretty breezy that day, but I got this in relatively calm shallows in the small inlet at the north end of North Beach. Full frame but cropped from left to 4x5 aspect from 4/3rds. Larger image included.

E-5 ZD300 F2.8 +EC-20 Wimberley I on GT2531, ISO 400 1/5000 f7.1 -1.0EV

Wonderful color contrast to this shot and nice job handling those difficult whites in bright light, way to go Bill.

Nice capture. Being in the blue water adds a lot to this image. While the body whites aren't blown, they look pretty close on my monitor. I would try to extract a bit more detail from the body whites. Nice job. Thanks for sharing.

Super job on the exposure on this guy. Love the head turn and the coloration particularly the blue eye contrasting with the pink beak and head. Super sharp. Nice job.

Nice pose on this bird and good detail in the white feathers. The bird really stands out against that nice blue water.

Very nice, Bill. The head turn is just a tad too far for my taste, and cost you some of the drama of the bill.

Good to see that E-5 and 300mm still cranking out razor0sharp photos...
