Not exactly a common bird for me I have seen it once before in Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana.
This one was found in Ruaha National Park, Tanzanis. Whilst not very close to me the IDX produced a reasonable image.

lovely rich colours Ken and a nice composition. On the downside the local focal range has led to asome loss of sharpness and detail but still a neat sighting. :toast:

A very beautiful bird. I really like the head turn and the pose is perfect. I bet they are quite a sight in flight with that amazing tail.

Somewhat better than "reasonable," Ken. Great bird, stunning image and classic pose. Even the color palette is wonderful.

Surprisingly sharp for the zoom and a 1.4TC. But I can see the zoom was absolutely necessary for birds shaped like this.

Far better than just reasonable even if it is showing a little strain from either the throw or a crop or both. The pose is excellent and the color palette so complimentary that you would think you had arranged it. I'd love to have a shot like this.

Waht a tail Ken!! That is a perfect head turn awesome background to compliment the bird and a nice perch. Can definitely see the crop and some noise but what a stellar bird and you got the most out of this opportunity. Sweet.

Thanks everybody, sorry about the quality it was just too far away and the light was low. :frown:

James Blue was with me with a far longer lens, I hope he has better quality
