There are always new creeks to find and follow in the Columbia Gorge.
Gorton Creek out of Wyeth is one I had not been to until today.
Still late winter and there was no one around!
Another large waterfall upstream is awaiting……

As usual for "Gorge" scenes, all of the subtle greens are terrific. I also like your emphasis on the mossy foreground rock and the depth that the forest above the stream adds. I do feel like all the water leaving the frame bottom right is pulling my interest out of the frame. That has me wondering what a couple steps left, right, or forward might do for this image (besides sending the photographer sliding down the stream on the steps to the right  ).

Looks like a pretty sweet exploration, Dan. The greens are very nice and the SS looks right on. I am also wondering if you had waders or could somehow center the stream flow. I agree with Mark that the water exiting to the right draws me out of frame.

Dan, I really like all the moss covered rock and the wonderful colors. I always enjoy seeing these images from the Columbia Gorge and hope I can make it there one day so I can see some of it for myself. The water motion looks good too so I think your 1/5 sec exposure worked well. It does kind of take ones eye out of the frame but that really doesn't bother me much. Looks like it might be a hard place to move around much.

Beautiful scene and capture, Dan. My personal preference would be to brighten the lights/highlights in the greens just a little. I really like the lush feel to this scene. Nice image!

Love all the wonderful, subdued greens. The absence of leaves on the trees has distilled this down in some ways to moss, ferns and water, which is really nice. Well done.

Nice exposure Dan. I like the chosen ss and the overcast look. I feel as though the comp I'd missing something though. My eye wanders from the river to the mossy rocks to the BG trees but none grab me as the focal point of interest. Maybe getting closer to the flow would have helped this (for me). Just my 2c

Nice muted colours. The image catches the mood of this deserted and quiet place quite well. Cropping the top part of the image a bit might improve the composition IMO.

Really enjoy the greens and waterflow in this Dan and the comp works for me. I wonder about brightening the area above the falls to pull me back through the image. Very nice as is though. :toast:
