Just to remind myself that Ruaha in the "dry" season can produce some reasonable images. Some cubs play in the dry bed of Mawagusi river, some time after sunset,

Nice that you have got 2 of the cubs giving eye contact. I would be tempted to try and bring a bit more life into their eyes and perhaps lighten the image overall by a small amount.

Hi Ken,
Nice slice of time captured here! Always fun to see images of young animals playing and this shot is no exception to that!
Ambivalent about the cat in the lower foreground - it obviously is a focus of the other cats' attention but could be argued to be a bit of a distraction as well (when I imagine the photo without it I think the two cats alone are easily enough to carry the shot).
I'm with Martin in thinking the image is perhaps a bit too dim globally and also perhaps a bit flat contrast-wise. But that's stuff that's pretty easy to fix!
Cheers...
Brad

This looks like the beginnings of a game of keep away. The two cubs looking at us are excellent. The OOF one in the foreground does tug at the eye. I only wish that there was a little more room between his ear and the others foot. I think it would have less of an effect. I would agree on lightening a bit. I wish I had one like it in my collection.

Thanks everybody, I was in two minds about whether to make the cub in the FG disappear, but decided against it.
The darkness reflects the lack of light at the time, I agree I could have made it lighter. but I prefer my images to reflect actuality if possible

What a fun catch, I'm still chuckling! The soft light lets the details show off well and it lets the sand's color add for a fine gentle warmth. I'll admit to some ambivalence about the oof cub at the bottom, but it's presence really completes the story.

I like the shapes they presented and their distinct expressions. I would prefer to not have the foreground, oof lion.
