Sony A77
Sony SAL 16-50, B&W CPL
ISO 50, .3secs @ f22
Washington County, TX

The past few years have been pretty unproductive for wildflowers but the bloom this season looks to be a late but good one. Made a pilgrimage to Washington County yesterday and had an absolute blast shooting bonnets, paintbrush, phlox, poppies and others. Thought I would start the series with an explosion of bluebonnets. All comments welcome.>=))>

I went on Wednesday, and it was glorious. The fields of paintbrushes on Hodde School Road were unlike anything I'd ever seen in my 24 in living here..
I like your unusual take on these bluebonnets. I will be posting shots this week. :wavey:

Love it, but you got some 'splainin' to do Bill! As in how this was done. :toast:

Phil: Zoom the lens while the shutter is open. I had to twist hard because the shutter speed was still a relatively short .3 seconds despite the low ISO, small aperture and polarizer aboard. Took a few shots to get the effect I wanted. . . Bill

This is really cool, Bill, and masterfully executed. You chose an excellent array for this technique.

Sure looks like an explosion of spring! The blue/green combo works well and your zoom is just the right speed. Well done!

Great use of this technique, Bill. Great color combo. Does your Sony do multiple exposures. Have you tried the zoom swirl technique? You need multi exposure capability or I guess it could be done in PS. :toast:

Spectacular, Bill ! Sounds a very tricky technique to me - you must have nimble fingers !! Very evocative of Spring bursting out - love it !!!
