I saw this shot in someone elses gallery and thought I'd try to shoot it myself. It's one of those locations where I just couldn't come up with a different way of composing it. My only hope was for an interesting sky. Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada charges $10 for each visitation so I decided to buy an annual pass for something like $70.

Ironically I got this shot the day I bought the pass !

I shot for 2½ minutes which was a bit risky because the light was fading so quickly but it turned out quite nicely.

Nice shot dude! Maybe a hair more contrast in Luminosity mode? :toast:

This looks like a fascinating area to shoot. I like the composition. The soft light gives this a more subtle mood, but I think it works. I like the color in the sky as well.

I like the colors, composition and the sky. I think moving the white point up would help the image to pop a little more.

Beautiful image Andrew. I really like the pastel colors throughout the frame. I agree with Mark that I a bit more contrast may make this one even better.

Beautiful shot Andrew, the colors are just insane! A little more contrast in the ground would really pump this one up! :toast:

Fantastic composition, great timing and nice exposure. Wondering if you can push the levels on the foreground rock, maybe add some contrast there.

Following recommendations from NPN followers I added contrast in luminosity mode. I made several versions but stand by this more subtle version.

Nice shot. Maybe add some more local contrast to your repost and increase the saturation in luminosity mode? The feature reminds me of a rainbow tie-dyed fried egg.
