I know this falls has been and continues to be shot to death, but I wanted my trophy shot as well.

On a nice cool overcast morning, I hiked along the eagle creek trail to visit Metlako and Punchbowl. No one was around, and I had the place all to myself. Given the amount of foliage in the area, I had to jump the fence and shoot the falls which was otherwise obstructed by trees.

I used a polarizer and a 70-200mm lens to catch this shot.

Your comments and critiques are much appreciated!

Sairam

Nice greens and cool feel.
I might crop a bit from the left and top.

That is some steam of water! I might suggest rotating a hair CCW. Also, the processing looks a bit too yellow overall. The water has taken on a yellowish tone. Maybe selectively adjust the whites for the water? Very subjective, I realize. Amazing place, would love to visit some day. :toast:

Thanks guys for the quick feedback! Richard, I can see your point about cropping in from top and left. I haven't experimented with crops yet, but that's a nice option!

Harry, does it seem slanted? I can swear I used a bubble level  As for the yellow tone, I'll play around with the whites for the water, and on second glance, the creek itself. :toast:

I agree that the image seems a bit yellow overall. Beautiful spot. You could also try to recover some of the highlights in the white water. They seem a bit blown out.

Thanks Ronald, and Aaron! Appreciate the feedback.

Here is a repost. I fixed the yellowy feel and brought some detail back in the water.

Wow, that's an impressive amount of green and lots of water over Metlako. I agree that the cooler green is more attractive.

This place is on my list to visit one of these days. Nothing wrong with having your own trophy shot, Sairam. There is a reason why everyone would like one for their own files. My only suggestions would be correcting the already mentioned yellow cast and recovering a bit of detail in the whites of the falls. Beautifully done.

Yep! You do need one of these in your collection; nicely done! Is this this year? If so, the vegetation is really exploding.

Thanks Daniel & Mark, appreciate it. Mark, hope to find some weird new angles to shoot this falls from in the future

Ed, is the repost still yellowy?

John, thanks. This was June of last year actually and yes the vegetation was insane!

A very artistic image. I like the framing and the light and color in it.
