Equipment: Nikon D7100, VR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G
Exposure: 1/2000s, f/5.6, IS) 220

Just getting started in nature photography as an active pursuit for retirement. Have been "playing around" with the camera and have just begun to get more serious about it.
Taken in February, near the Llano River in the Texas Hill Country.

Welcome to NPN Sharron. A great place to learn wildlife photography. Awesome to capture this Eagle on the nest. I would recommend darkening the highlights in the nest a bit more to achieve a full silhouette effect. I think a crop eliminating about half of the nest from the bottom would put a bit more emphasis on the Eagle. As presented, the nest is the most dominant subject in the image. Great first avian post. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi Sharron. I think this is quite creative, there is a strong sense of design here with the dark branches against the attractive all blue sky. I agree with Matt on his particular point regarding have the blacks a bit darker for a full silhouette effect. Great photo.
