'Get a Grip'

Get a Grip is a capture for the St Johns River trip the week that Mark Seaver joined me. We had several good encounters with Ospreys fishing. This one came past us very close and I was lucky to get off a shot but was unable to get all the wings in the frame but still thought it had enough interest to post. Mark and I were testing each other's lenses at the time and I was using his fixed 400 mm for this shot. Hand held from boat, cropped to 80% of FF.

Great post, you have my interest Mike!
When I come out there, I'm gonna get me one of these
Nice BG, details, and you've managed the light/shadows well.:toast:

Nice image Mike. Always amazes me how Ospreys hold fish when they fly. Too bad about the wings being clipped. I might take a look at a small amount of desaturation of the greens. Maybe they were really that green, but they grab my attention.

Excellent detail except for the little patch on the leg that's blown out, Mike. Cool action, and the missing wing doesn't really intrude itself.
