Solitary Sandpiper

I found a hotspot for yellow and palm warbler on a small, and I mean small, creek this week. The weather was overcast and spitting rain. I wedged into a small spot with no space for a tripod, so this was handheld. This sandpiper flew right in and had no clue I was there. It was quite the afternoon!!

Nice, Jason. What focal length were you at? This seems to have more dof than I would expect from 500? I think it would benefit from a bit more bg blur. Detail in the bird looks good.

Nice composition and details, Jason. A fill flash might have brought out the details of the bird even a bit more.
