Greater Rhea

The last weekend I went to Lagoa dos Peixes, a wonderful place for birding in the very south of Brazil.

I liked this photo. It was late afternoon, light was nice.

There was a couple with at least ten young Greater Rhea.

A head of a cow was cloned out in the lower left corner.

f/6.3 1/250, ISO 400, -2/3

Cool image, Jefferson. With that wild patch of feathers on the back, I almost expect to see another bird nesting there. Excellent image quality.

No nits from me Jefferson, I like the composition and agree that the image quality is very nice. Sounds like a great birding place for sure!

The large version is exquisite, really shows off those dynamite feather details. Nicely done! :toast:

Nice image Jefferson and I like how the head is raised and lit.

Neat image, well handled. :toast: My only nit is that the positioning almost make it look as if he is growing up out of the bush.
